Global warming may actually cause the UK to freeze. The warm waters of the Gulf Stream keep the UK much warmer than other countries at the same latitudes. However if the Greenland ice sheet melts into the sea this could cause the Gulf Stream to shut down, meaning no more nice moderate climate in the UK.
