Why will people want it?

Energy devils and angelsThe ENUFFOMETER saves effort and money so it will appeal to a wider range of people than other energy saving products currently on the market. The products on the market today are aiming at a small (but growing) market, because  the only people likely to buy them are people who already have a 'green' outlook. The ENUFFOMETER will have access to a much wider market and therefore would face less competition because in the long run it would save money and instantly it would save a lot of time, rather than simply saving the world. (Since it seems that products that help save the world are, surprisingly, not what most people want to buy). Of course, once someone unconcerned or unaware of global warming has bought the ENUFFOMETER we would hope that their state of mind will change.

The ENUFFOMETER will be sold as a package of one central remote, 4 smart plugs and the CD. If more smart plugs are required they can be purchased separately. The target price for the package is around £50 - £80 (that's less than ElectriSave but more than Current Cost will be when it's available later this year). That might seem expensive but it can save that much in just a few months. We also think electricity companies could be interested in supplying ENUFF equipment to their customers to help reduce energy demand (and meet CO2 targets). As soon as the ENUFFOMETER is connected to your computer it will link up with the ENUFF website, allowing owners access to intelligent, informative advice on energy saving, as well as up to date information on the issue of global warming.

 The Not ENUFF and Good ENUFF stamps can be used to indicate products and behaviors that waste and save energy. Here's some examples.  

 

Although we're focussed on electricity use at present, this could be extended to cover heating, transport and waste as well. 

 

 

 

How will we tell people about the benefits? 

The idea of ENUFF will reach the green world though advertising by Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth etc. As well as promotion at protests and at events like Live Earth. funny_weather

And, crucially, news of ENUFF will reach the wider world though adverts in the media, eg. newspapers such as the Indepenent. We would hope to be able to have adverts for newspapers and magazines draw for us by the cartoonist Kate Evans, who has recently written a brilliant book on climate change called 'Funny Weather' ( view her book online ).

And though promotion by celebrities with a greener side, such as Razorlight, KT Tunstall etc.
